As part of the GoRide Clubmark accreditation, Safeguarding & Protecting young persons (and vulnerable adults) is provided via a structure of trained Club Welfare Officers and qualified coaches. The club is lucky to have two volunteers that take on the role of Club Welfare Officer and Deputy Club Welfare Officer. Both have attended Safeguarding and Protection Workshops and completed British Cycling additional training. The Club Welfare Officers are supported by the British Cycling Safeguarding and Protecting Head-Quarter staff in Manchester
Individual coaches also have to complete Safeguarding & Protectiong training/workshops and adhere to a British Cycling Code of Practice for Coaches used in conjunction with the British Cycling Guidelines for Coaching Cycling published and regularly reviewed on the British Cycling website.
